Maybe great bios and about pages are better left to rock stars, spelling bee champs, and stealth ninjas...anyone who's otherwise led a more glamorous life than us. As far as that goes, we were probably never very cool growing up but please, no pity party for us. Save your cake and streamers for that one kid, for example, that ate paste. We never ate paste. Never even thought about it. But we're undercutting our own story, so let's get on with it...

Who's Your Dăta (pronounced like da-tah, not day-tah) is more than just a resource for information or a few fun blogs and cartoons. Who's Your Dăta is an online community for government IT professionals to hang out, let their hair down, and have some fun, while learning a little something and sharing their knowledge in return.

So, if what you read here makes you laugh out loud at your desk, don't feel guilty - we laugh at our own jokes the hardest (please see above…we never claimed to be cool). If you want to take time to submit a cartoon, an idea, a blog, whatever - get up on that soap box and let it all out. It's okay, we're opinionated too. If you want to email all your friends a link to our latest cartoon, if you want to print it, photocopy it, send it around the office, sleep with it under your pillow, by all means don't let us stop you.

Point being, our home is your home, so get settled in, make yourself comfortable, and help yourself to whatever's in the fridge. Oh, and don't mind the mess while we finish renovations because, to be entirely honest, Who's Your Dăta may always be a work in progress. So maybe we're a little selfish, maybe we have a subconscious need for attention, but we'd like to think our 15 minutes of fame will last just a little longer if we stay ahead of the game, if we give you the news, the facts, and the unsolicited (but well qualified) opinions of the guys that know their stuff - because in technology today's bigger, better, best is only steps away from tomorrow's been there, done that. And being old news...that just isn't our bag.

Privacy Policy
Buying, selling, and trading are for stocks, bonds, and baseball cards. Not our friends.

It is our goal to earn and keep your trust by upholding the highest standards of privacy. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our policy, please feel free to contact us. Although some sections of Who's Your Dăta require registration, feel confident providing your personal information because we will not sell your information to any other parties, nor will we provide it without your consent.

We also will never send you unsolicited email. If you are receiving email from us it is because you requested it. However, you can easily discontinue receiving any email we send by simply following the instructions that appear at the bottom of the email message at hand. It just means you won't get any postcards from us the next time we go on vacation.

Who's Your Dăta contains links to other sites. Although we provide their links, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such sites. In plain English, if you leave the Who's Your Dăta site to register for a sales pitch from another site, a sales pitch you will get. (Although not from us. It's kind of a New Year's resolution to stop being so darn preachy.)

We do provide affiliates, advertisers, and business partners with collective information about our visitors as a whole (mainly consisting of lots of numbers and statistics pasted into pretty little graphs and pie charts); but we do not provide information about specific individuals. They just don't seem to find your astrological sign as interesting as we do.

Public Forums

This web site offers blog and comment postings available to all users. Please keep in mind that any information provided in these sections becomes public information and caution should be exercised when disclosing personal information. Caution should also be exercised when taking candy from strangers, crossing the street without looking both ways, or leaving the house without clean underwear. Hey, we're just looking out for you.

While we're on the subject of public forums, it seems like a good time to point out that our mommies and daddies taught us the virtues of playing nice with all the other kids in the sandbox at a very young age. That being said, we're not a big fan of, nor do we tolerate, the public airing of grievances, flaming, degrading comments or opinions, or a generally negative attitude towards our friends in the Who's Your Dăta community. Moral of the story, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all (or at the very least, don't post it to the site). Phew…now that we have that off our chests, we'll get off the soap box. For now.

Security

Security tactics are in place in order to protect the loss, misuse, or modification of the information under our control. But as soon as we find the money, we have big plans to get ourselves little badges and hire a guy to drive around the parking lot in an '83 Escort with a flashing yellow light on top. Until then, we'll just have to rely on good ole technology to keep all our information under lock and key.

Third-Party Advertisers

Unfortunately, we're not independently weathly. Therefore, we allow outside companies to display ads on our Web site. (We have bills to pay too.) Although the ads may appear to come from Who's Your Dăta, in reality they are provided courtesy of our trusted friends who are servicing ads on our site.
